Top 10 Free Traffic Methods to gain on your Website

Top 10 Free Traffic Methods Report | SEO | Article Marketing  | Video Marketing

Social Networking | Forum Posting | Blog Commenting | Yahoo Answers
Create Backlinks | Traffic Exchanges | Social Bookmarking

  • SEO – It stands for Search Engine Optimization. If you’re in the business of promoting your website, then you’ve most likely heard of this already. As the name suggests, its goal is to optimize your website’s content for search engines so that your site pops up in the search results for relevant keywords. Good SEO is essential for quality, long term traffic.
  • Article Marketing – sites like Fn Secure allow users to open an account that will allow you to share information relevant to your website as well as provide a direct link to your site after the content. It’s easy to do because you’re writing about what you already know.
  • Video Marketing – while most of the stuff promoted online comes in the form of reading material, websites like YouTube have provided users with an avenue to post promotional videos for free. They’re easily searched and can be indexed in search engines, thanks to tags and keywords, and they’re a friendlier way to promote your site since it’s visual.
  • Social Networking – this one’s taken into by big and small companies alike. With so many people’s lives revolving around Facebook and Twitter, exposure to countless audiences worldwide is always guaranteed if your site has its own Facebook and Twitter page.
  • Forum Posting – the good thing about forums is that they bring people of the same interests together in one place. All you have to do is to be part of a site that promotes an interest relevant to your website and regularly share your knowledge while promoting your site. Be careful not to SPAM, though – forum moderators are quite vigilant against their threads getting cluttered up with advertising more than relevant info.
  • Blog Commenting – this is just like forum posting, except that it’s much easier to do, since you just need to leave a comment on blog posts that are connected to your site. But you have to be careful about SPAM with this method as well. More often than not, blog authors who see any link on comments find this as a SPAM indicator, so be sure to leave comments relative to the topic so that you won’t fall under that category.
  • Yahoo Answers – browse through the categories and answer questions that are related to your website. The goal is to build up enough credibility for yourself around the system so that people look to your responses often, and they’ll most likely follow websites that you recommend – including your own, and that will boost traffic.
  • Create Backlinks – these are simply links that lead back to your site that are posted on other sites. You can do this on your own blog or blogs, or you can work with other blog authors. It's best to build links on high PageRank websites. They’re very easy to do and are essential for good SEO.
  • Traffic Exchanges – also known as Hit Exchange, this is similar to a backlink, but involves a bigger community of users. You will most likely have to get a membership in a group where its members agree to drive traffic to each other’s websites. You will only need a couple of minutes each day to fulfill your end of the deal to benefit from the exchange.
  • Social Bookmarking – sites like Digg and StumbleUpon are very easy and straightforward to use. You just need to share links through your account for other users to see.

  • Hope You now enjoy getting more traffic to your website

    AdSense Account within Few Hours

    AdSense Account within Few Hours

Well, there is not any magic involved in this trick. It only depends on selection of right combination of various factors while applying for a Google Adsense account.
    • Create a Yahoo email address (also called Yahoo! ID) with your name such asjohnsmith3445@yahoo.com
    • Signup for Blogger with same Yahoo! Email ID.
    • Create a Blogger Blog on your name i.e. http://johnsmith.blogspot.com. If Yourname is not available then add some additional number to it but must use your full name i.e. http://johnsmith3445.blogspot.com
    • Post just 3 articles about your self such as Your life in High School, How was your Yesterday, Any movie you watched etc. Write your own words instead of copying from Internet.
    • Now, its time to apply for an AdSense account - Go to Monetize tab from your blogger account and apply for an AdSense account.
    • You will get the response from Google Adsense team within few hours.

There is not something illegal or tricky in this method so it does not violates the Google Adsense TOS at all. I wonder what makes Google Adsense team to approve such accounts with highest priority.

What Is Blogging Success? [Blogging For Beginners]

Yellow success key with clipping pathSuccess: This is one word which we all live for.
A blogger writes in hope of becoming a successful blogger.
A dancer hopes to be a successful dancer.
A musician composes in hopes of becoming a star musician.
But have you ever asked yourself, “What Is Success?”
There are many definitions from great personalities like:
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. -Winston Churchill
Success is falling nine times and getting up ten. -Jon Bon Jovi
Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom. -George S. Patton
These all are good and inspiring definitions.
    But…
Still, what is success? And since we are talking about blogging here, what is Blogging Success?
    My definition is:
Success is making a living doing what you love and still being with your loved ones.
    What is your definition?
    1. How do you define blogging success?
    2. What is most important factor/ingredient needed to be a successful blogger?
P.S. If you are wondering what [Blogging For Beginners] is in title, it is a new series that I have started in which I will write about how to build a successful blog. So, do not forget to subscribe.

Do You Want To Stay A “Nobody” Or Become A Real Blogger? -An Steve Jobs Inspiratin..!!

Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or come with me and change the world? -Steve Jobs
YouSteve Jobs said this in 1983 when recruiting John Sculley for Apple. Sculley was working for Pepsi at that time and couldn't make his mind about joining Apple. At that time, Steve Jobs convinced him using this legendary pitch.
But what is history doing here.
You are not reading a blog about history or Apple fanboy blog.
It is not related to blogging, or is it?
    Confused?
Do not think much, just read on.

    Working hard?

You know what, that's a big problem!
You are working hard. You are working very hard.
But results are 0 or if you are lucky, 0.1. Nothing more than that.
    Why?
Because you are working hard and hard work does not guarantee success.

2 Hour Per Day = Blogger?

If you are thinking about working 2 hours a day and becoming a celebrity blogger, you are dreaming. You are day dreaming!
    Why?
Blogging is not about just writing.
It takes a lot more. Promotion, commenting, guest posts and what not.
We need a lot of time to build a successful blog.
And working just 2 hours a day is not going to cut it. It might have worked for a few guys, but open your eyes!
    I said open your eyes.
    This is the real world.
You are not a full-time blogger.
You have hundred other tasks to do.
And if you think you are still going to make it, you are still day dreaming.
There are hundreds of others who have realized the potential of blogging and have jumped as a full-time blogger.
    They are working hard.
    And what are you doing?
    Refusing to see them.
    That's what an ostrich does?
Still, ostrich does not escape from hunter.
Closing your eyes towards the competition does not mean that it is not there. You have to take a look and learn from it.
It’s not enough to succeed — Others must fail.
Break out of your "I'll succeed" illusions!
If you have blogged for 3 years and still getting 3 comments per post and 30 page views per day, you are doing something wrong. And still you think you are going to succeed?

Do Not Be An Ostrich, Be A Lion!

What you need to do is to stop closing your eyes.
    Do not overlook competition.
    Do not hide your head.
    Be a lion.
    Treat competition like a pray.
    Kill the competition.
    Destroy it.
    Hit with a knife.
    Better, drop a bomb.
Better yet, drop a nuke on your competition.

    How To Kill Your Competition

Before you start thinking about doing murder of a competitor blogger or assembling a nuclear bomb, just let me tell you that you should not be doing anything like that.
To kill your competition, all you need to do is to get ahead of rival bloggers. In stats, in subscriber numbers and in comments!
To beat them, all you need is to:
    1. Write Better: They are writing great posts? Go one step ahead! Write awesome posts! In fact, you should not just write awesome but make your whole blog awesome.
    2. Promote Better: They are spending 2 hours for promotion? Spend 2 hours, 1 minute. Even this 1 minute gives you edge over them.
    3. Steal: See what they are doing. Often, bloggers will write about great things that happen to them. Take lessons. Avoid the mistakes they did, repeat their successful steps.

    But You Have No Time

    Right?
    You have no time.
You have hundred other things to.
The best solution: Leave your job or school.
But you can not do that, right?
I can not do that and I am sure you too can not.
So, what is the way out of all this?
The way that does not need a lot of time but can still make you a great blogger, that can propel you straight to A-List.

    Open Your Eyes

Look around, there are only two ways to become a professional blogger.
    1. Blog Full Time.
    2. Start A Team Blog.

    Full Time Blogging

Full Time Blogging is, in my opinion, best option for you. If you become a full-time blogger, you will have lot more time to promote. More time spent on blogging will mean more traffic and income. However, this is a risky way.
What if you do not do well and fail?
You have responsibilities. You can spend 2-3 months without much income but at one point, you will have to look for a traditional job.
But if you do well, you will surely get bigger benefit.
    Bigger risk, bigger benefit!

    Team Blogging

Starting a team blog or group blog is another option.
Instead of a single person working on a blog, it is better to have several people. All the efforts will add. This way, team blogging helps you to keep your day job and still accelerating the growth. Yes, issues are there but if you have cooperative people around, you can easily solve these.

    Choose A Path

This is the time to make a choice. Do you want to stay a normal nobody or change the blogosphere.
Do not continue your efforts on something small, aim for big target.
Do not be satisfied with 100 visits per day when you are capable of getting a million per day.
Do not be satisfied with three hundred subscribers when you are capable of getting three thousand or more.
    Make a choice.
Either become a full-time blogger or start a team blog.
I am forcing you because this is going to be great for you. Just try!
    And in the end:
Do you still want to be a nobody forever or change the blogosphere?

How to Keep Track of Your Blog Visitors

Well, you started a blog and day by day you nurtured it with constant and relevant postings. You also filled your sidebar(s) with great gadgets. And, submitted your blog link to the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, Live, and Askjeeves. One month passed, and it seems no visitors came or you cannot know their numbers. Next month some of your friends visited your blog and left comments. Finally you can see someone visited. But you realize this kind of informal tracking is not comparative or coherent enough.
As a newbie blogger I am sure you want to track the hits on your blog. Tracking can also help in following and converting one time visitors to regular loyal visitors. I also faced similar problems during my primordial stage. I surfed the internet to learn more about the concept of tracking and came to know the best services available. Further, since paid tracking was not an option and I looked for something accurate and free. So you might want to track your visitors and visiting trend like Page views, Unique Visitors, Loyalty or Returning Count, Time on Site, Country, ISP (Internet service Provider), Referral Links, Outgoing Links or Exit Links.
Don't worry; there are solutions as every problem has one. What do you think? Am not I speaking the truth? Oh leave it, but that's the truth. And your problem has got some solutions. So, read on and discover those solutions. Lol.
In the internet there are so many sites which provide Visitors Tracking Service. Some of them are free to use and some of them are limited. Hold on, I will be discussing those solutions with their plus points and limitations.
    MYBLOGLOG
mybloglogMybloglog is a site maintained by Yahoo. Submit your nascent blog to this directory and opt for the free service. Then put a small code snippet just after the header of your template and you will be getting your visitors count easily. This website will give you an entire picture of your visitors like Referring Link, visited Urls (Universal Resource Locators) and Offsite clicks (Exit links). But I would like you to customize your settings so as to exclude your visits to your blogs. Should you not do this you will be presented a bloated picture as you happen to visit your blog very often for testing purposes.
First of all know your IP address. "An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a numerical identification (logical address) that is assigned to devices participating in a computer network. " A sample IP would be "172.31.255.255" Depending on your computer and or private network, your address can be either static or dynamic. If a dynamic address then make use of the asterisk as wildcards. e.g. 172.****. This will exclude your visit from its count. LOL, you are done. You can also exclude those links which you don't want to be tracked as your Exit Links. Just look for the available settings inside the site.
From the next day you will be getting clearer picture of your visitors. It will also show top exit links of that day. This will show you which of your links happen to be the Popular Link. Its Recent Visitor widget will show which Mybloglog users came to your site. But it's primarily a blog directory with facility of interaction among bloggers. And as far as the tracking service is concerned it is but a fringe service. It is for this reason it shows your visitors with limited parameters. But when you happen to be there with your blog there is no harm in using this service as it is free. No doubt there is a Paid option but I don't recommend that for new bloggers. So, are you there?
    STATCOUNTER
stat Statcounter is one of the common names among bloggers. It is easy to use and has two plans one Free and obviously the other is the Paid one. In the free version you will have to reset your counter after 500 Visits or entries. Obviously, you will loss all counts after you reset your counter. But it is the one of the best options available for amateur and newbie bloggers. Not all bloggers monetize their blog as monetizing is not an easy affair. So, when there is no money what's the use of expensing dollars? No doubt if you have stream of income from your blog, you may think of the Paid plan.
Statcounter has many options and can show your stats from different angles. It shows you weekly, monthly views with colorful graphs. There are so many options for the counter and you can choose a variety of colors to match or contrast your template. You can also put a small button on the site also or use an invisible counter. Here also you will have to exclude your IP address so as to get a real picture. But if you happen to visit your blog from multiple browsers and computers then you will have to go through the blocking process for each.
    Some features:
    • Tutorials for installations in different platforms like Blogger or WordPress.
    • Track your outgoing links and the entries which exited from such links.
    • Use a lens icon to get more detail on visitors.
    • Super Path that shows visits from every possible angle with visitor entry and exit links.
    • Number of visitors from each search engine and keyword performance.
    • Map over lay showing visitor locations.
    • Receive your total stats in your mail box.
What more do you want? So what do you say? Are you using Statcounter or yet to sign up there?
    FEEDBURNER
feedbAll your posts are known as feeds as they change very often. To syndicate them or make those feeds available for easy reading in feed readers you are required to burn your feed and acquire a unique address of your feed. Feedburner is the leader in this field. Google acquired Feedburner and is integrating its free features into the Google system by the end of February. However, its reporting feature is being closed since Google has another such service called Analytics. Don't worry I will be discussing Analytics in detail.
Feedburner will continue to show your feed syndication stats. It will count users are following your feed in MyYahoo, Msnlive,Igoogle, Google reader, Outlook or from browsers like Safari or IE7, Bloglines or any other feed service. The greater the Reach of your feeds the better it is for your blog. Further you can download the report in .Csv or .xls format for your perusal. I hope some new features might be added to the site for your benefit. And if you want to know about such new features then keep tab with this blog. So, have you burned your feed in feedburner? Come on, burn your feed as it is not that complicated and you should need only an hour to apply your knowledge.

    ANALYTICS

anaAs I said earlier here I go with Analytics. This service I must say is the best reporting service out there, having a wide range of features. The most important news is that it is FREE. The reporting is available for all sorts of customization. Among other things it shows:
    - total number of visits
    - average Time on Site and Bounce rate
    - map overiew of visitor language, city and ISP
    - content overview which drills down to a micro level the popularity of one's contents
    - the top landing and top exit pages

The Site overlay Feature is a very useful feature of the Analytics that will show you the popularity of your pages by showing percentage of uses. By this feature you can know the popularity of your page and insert Advertisement on that very spot, if you have monetization of your blog in mind. There are so many advanced features Available in the Analytics like Google Ad word Monitoring and also Google Adsense Monitoring. You can even set Goals and create Funnels. And even you can measure the success of each Goal. These kinds of features are not really required by amateur bloggers. So if you are a newbie bloggers please don't bother about these features just yet.
Here also you will have to exclude your visit to know the exact picture. A question might be popping in your mind about the mechanism to exclude your visit in Analytics, isn't it? Don't worry read this very useful and simple article to remove your visits.
First of all, you will have to verify your site by putting a code snippet just above the closing body tag of your template. After some days you will see the consequences when there will be enough data to present a comparative figure. Analytics will not report anything instantly rather it will show one day old data. It takes time for the site to tabulate and compare various kinds of datas related to your page views or hits. But as far as the parameters and micro level reporting is concerned Analytics is the best.
    FEEDJIT
feedjitFeedjit Live widget will show your recent visitors but not in any great detail. It will show your visitors from these parameters
    • Which city and country your visitors are in.
    • Which website they arrived from.
    • Which page they visited on your website.
    • Which external link they clicked to leave your site, if any.
    You can install widgets like:
    • Live traffic Feed.
    • Live traffic Map.
    • Page Popularity Widget.
Its 'Popular feed' widget is very good as it will show the popularity of your posts by percentage. Certainly at the beginning you will need such stats. It is very easy to install the widget as right from the site it will be installed in WordPress or Blogger or Typad. Just sign up with a valid mail id and install right way their widgets. Color customization of widgets is available and you can exclude your visit. Further all your data will not be available for your perusal as no records are kept by the site. But instantly you can have informations about your recent visitors. You can know the Referring links, Country/City of visit, Browser, Operating system and Time of visit by just pressing the relevant link from inside your website or blog. You should exclude your visit from the Option Link of your widget. And from next visit your hit will not be tracked. Now Feedjit is evolving and may be it will have more useful features regarding visitors tracking in future. The pro version of Feedjit has got more features as compared to the Free version. As it involves no coding or installation of any codes inside your template, it is very easy to use and useful for newbie. A useful feature of Feedjit widgets is that it will make available your feeds as well as your blog in the Blogosphere and following those links you can get visitors or serious readers. So, are you using? Come on, it is free. Lol.
    MY RECOMMENDATION
There are many other service providers, like StatMeter and HiStat. But I've discussed the most talked and widely used services. Sometimes, you will note that some visits are tracked by one service provider but not by a different one. But this anomalies should wash out, as in the end you will get an accurate picture. And if you use multiple services then you will end up receiving more or less the same stats. I recommend you use StatCounter for instant reporting. But you must use Analytics should for micro level reporting of traffic. You will be missing if you don't use both Analytics and StatCounter. So how about using two services at the same time? Of course it is the right option to get a comparative picture.
So, I wish happy blogging and smart tracking of your visitors. I also shower lots of good wishes in your endeavor of blogging and making relevant information available to the knowledge seekers. Remember you are no less important as far as providing knowledge to others.
Thank you for going through this post.
